Mica powder is ideal for wax melts and wickless candles, but we don't recommend using it in candles that have a wick. Mica is a very fine powder, but the particles do not completely dissolve in wax. Therefore, the mica can potentially clog your wick and negatively affect how your candle burns.
Is it safe to burn mica powder?
This doesn't guarantee a clean burn because the powder can still potentially enter the melt pool and clog the wick, but it does limit the potential problems. Most candle designs that incorporate mica powder are decorative and aren't intended for burning.Can you add mica to candle wax?
