POMS - long form
Composed of 65 questions, those taking the test are asked to give a self-report for each question on how well they do or do not relate. Most of those who complete this test are adults and it takes approximately 5–15 minutes.How do you calculate poms?
Scoring for POMSA Total Mood Disturbance (TMD) can be calculated by adding the raw scores from tension, depression, anger, fatigue and confusion and then subtracting the vigour score. This will give a value between –24 and 177, with lower scores indicative of people with more stable mood profiles.
How is the POMS test scored?
POMS is a standard validated psychological test formulated by McNair et al. (1971). The questionnaire contains 65 words/statements that describe the feelings people have.

- 4 - Not at all.
- 3 - A little.
- 2 - Moderately.
- 1 - Quite a Lot.
- 0 - Extremely.
