There are several ways to determine the production date of the helmet: 1. By the production code engraved on the chinstrap D-ring. The code offers a capital letter followed by one or two figures. The capital letter represents the production year, starting with the letter A for the production year 2001.
How do I find out when my Arai helmet was made?
Your helmet's manufacture date will be located in one of three places, it will be on the:
- The Chinstrap D-Ring (Late 2000's to Present)
- On a white tag on the long side of the chinstrap (Mid 2000's)
- Stamped into the leatherette of the chin strap (Early 2000's)

What does Snell 2000 mean?
This helmet has a Snell SA 2000 rating, which means it is out of date. The ratings are good for approximately 11 to 12 years from the Snell date (depending on new ratings, and a particular sanctioning body's rules).Is Snell better than dot?
